LARK 0.4.1
Latest
2026-11-04
- Import Audio Files adds the files as new tracks to the open session instead of replacing it. You can also drag and drop audio files (or a .lrks session) onto LARK.
- Clips show the track's WAV file name. Tracks recorded for only some songs show clips only where they were recorded.
- Recording only some tracks in Multi: the other tracks stay visible in their order, keep their REC buttons after stopping, and show nothing in their lanes. Input meters move only on armed tracks.
- Fixed: LARK crashed when stopping a recording that added a new track to a recorded session.
- Switch pre-record tracks between mono and stereo (right-click a track name; works on all selected tracks).
- Make a Click: no clicks during MCs between songs (stops where no beat is heard for 8 beats or more; adjustable).
- Changing the skin or language keeps the Big Clock, large RTA and Session Note windows open where they were. Fixed overlapping labels in the top bar of narrow windows.

- Import channel names from an input list: drop a screenshot, photo, PDF, Excel (.xlsx) or CSV of the input list and LARK finds the channel numbers and names on this computer (no AI, nothing is sent). Tuned on real-world input lists: tight columns, names split over two columns, small text on dense A4 sheets, missed headers. Check the names in the table, then apply. Excel and CSV are read exactly; PDFs and images go through text recognition.
- Track notes (right-click a track name; a small note mark shows them) and a Session Note window (View menu) that stays on top and follows the skin; both are saved in the session.
LARK 0.3.6
2026-11-02
- Update from inside LARK: "Update Now" downloads the new version, checks it, and restarts LARK, with no security prompt on each update.
- New skin: Light, a bright theme that stays readable outdoors in daylight.
- Folder and file names follow the display language (e.g. Rehearsal, Multi, Song, Click), and names in any language are made safe on every OS.
- Fixed: the Stop button did not stop recording after changing the skin or language.
- Fixed: the 2Mix (and other) input could not be chosen while a recorded session was open; pick it with the In box next to the record button.
LARK 0.3.5

- Halloween edition: new Halloween skin (a witch LARK on a broom, jack-o'-lanterns, cobwebs and Halloween track colours) and a Halloween app icon.
- Make a Click (Edit menu): build a click track from a 2Mix recording, with a fixed tempo per song, bar accents and per-song bar start. Clicks now sit on the beat on real recordings.
- Input device "This Mac's sound" / "This PC's sound": record what plays on the computer (at -3 dB).
- Polar Level view (click the goniometer): per-band position and phase, with peak hold. Correlation now has 120 bands.
- Multi-patch: send a track to several outputs at once (track Out menu, or Cmd / Ctrl-click in the Patch Matrix).
- Clips are selected and deleted per track (Shift / Cmd-click to add, Cmd+A for all); delete a clip on one track only, or on all tracks from the right-click menu.
- Templates: load any session (.lrks) as a template and choose what to take over. The .lrkt template files are no longer used.
- Time display: right-click to choose the format, left-click to type a time and move there.
- Pan display: L100 - R100 or L63 - R63 (Settings > Display). M / S buttons also work on tracks without a waveform.
- Invite Engineers (Help menu): share your personal link; every engineer who applies for the beta through it earns you a discount on LARK 1.0.
- More robust recording at high channel counts (tested: 256 ch at 96 kHz, 64-sample buffer, no dropouts on an 8 GB Mac).
- Fixed: Chinese UI text disappearing on Mac (0.3.4); transport buttons overlapping in narrow windows.
LARK 0.3.4
2026-10-29
- Fixed: mixed fonts in Chinese, Korean and Thai.
- Track M / S buttons moved next to the track name and shown in every mode (also while recording).
- Patch In / Out labels stay in English in every language.
- Wider track headers, so longer track names fit.
- New (Mac, macOS 14.2+): record the sound playing on this Mac as two extra inputs, Mac L / R (Settings > Audio Device). No driver needed.
- Settings: Input is now listed above Output.
- Windows: record the sound playing on the PC as inputs PC L / R.
- Time Align: shows the time offset and polarity between two tracks (e.g. kick in / out, snare top / bottom).
- Big Clock window (View > Big Clock...): the time of day, resizable, 12- or 24-hour.
- RTA: new multi-time-window engine (fine resolution in the lows, fast response in the highs), smooth curves and motion (60 updates a second), and 1/24 and 1/48 octave views.
- RTA: choose the range (24 to 96 dB), averaging time (0.1 to 3 s) and level scale (per band, or 1-octave equivalent); drag the dB scale or use the mouse wheel to move the graph up / down; right-click for the menu.
- Large RTA window and Big Clock stay on top of the LARK window.
LARK 0.3.3
2026-10-27

- Diagnostics for Yamaha consoles too.
- Channel names from Allen & Heath dLive / Avantis and Behringer X32 / Midas M32 (also X Air / MR).

- Languages: English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified / Traditional), Korean, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Thai (View > Language).
- Setlist: enter the songs beforehand; Next (N) adds a marker with the next song name, MC (M) adds "MC #n".

- Tempo (BPM) detection next to the transport clock; click for x2 / /2.
- RTA: line only, plus reference curves (Rock, Pops, EDM, Hip-Hop / R&B, Jazz / Acoustic, Pink); drag up / down to move.
- Export: 4 ms fade in / out at the start and end of each file to avoid clicks.
LARK 0.3.2
2026-10-26
- Fixed: importing DiGiCo channel names could hang at "Connecting..." when the console did not report its channel count.
- DiGiCo ports now work like the iPad app: LARK Send = the console's Rcv, LARK Rcv = the console's Send.
LARK 0.3.1
2026-10-26
- New: Help > Send Feedback / Report a Bug. Send us bugs and ideas right from LARK (system information is optional and shown before sending; recordings are never sent).
- DiGiCo channel names: Diagnostics button showing everything sent to and received from the console; Rcv / Send port labels; more tolerant of how the console replies.
LARK 0.3.0
2026-10-26
- Zoom in to individual samples: the waveform is drawn from the recorded audio down to a single line and sample dots, with a millisecond ruler.
- Find Consoles button in Import Channel Names (searches the network for Yamaha consoles).
- New tracks are Blue by default; "Give each track a different colour" option in Add Track.
- Patch Matrix keeps the channel names visible while scrolling.
- Clearer help when a console can't be reached (use the console's control port IP, not the Dante IP).
- Find Consoles no longer scans this computer's own addresses or 169.254.x.x.
LARK 0.2.0
- First public beta for macOS and Windows, free until December 31, 2026.
